AlbaSIM designs simulation games for professional training and higher education. Our simulations aim at developing high level skills and the ability to solve complex problems. Our R&D activities include the development of a web game engine, the integration of simulation games with active learning (problem based learning, experiential learning) and the use of simulation games as a basis for solving real problems

Research at the EPFL Computer Graphics and Geometry Laboratory focuses on efficient representations and algorithms for digital 3D models. The goal of our research is to understand the principles of geometric computing and modeling, and to develop new algorithms and tools for efficient 3D model representation, shape analysis, simulation, design, and interaction.

Disney Research was launched in 2008 as an informal network of research labs that collaborate closely with academic institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH). We're able to combine the best of academia and industry: we work on a broad range of commercially important challenges, we view publication as a principal mechanism for quality control, we encourage engagement with the global research community, and our research has applications that are experienced by millions of people. We're honoring Walt Disney's legacy of innovation by researching novel technologies and deploying them on a global scale.

Epac is a professional art school which propose from September 2011 a new GameArt formation.
The students will learn all major aspects of the artistic creation of a video game : 2D/3D, concept art, character and background, user interface, basic animation.
This formation (2 years) leads to an European Master degree.
The course will create an environment similar to a real game developer, and the students will work toward creating products which they will distribute.

Located in the heart of Geneva, Head – Geneva is the most important training institution in art and design in Western Switzerland. It was created in 2006 from the amalgamation of the Fine School and the Applied School, both over two hundred years old. Head – Geneva offers a wide range of high level courses in two equally important domains: Fine Arts and Design.

Atelier projects, courses and seminars, commissioned work in close collaboration with the professional worlds of art and design, workshops led by invited international artists and designers, contribute to the dynamics of a teaching environment devised as a space for freedom and personal and social responsibility. Diverse aesthetic practices, based on research and experimentation, and the employment of significant technical, traditional or innovative techniques, are combined with theoretical teaching whose aim is as much the acquisition of knowledge as the practice of plural intellectual thinking

Our vision is to make possible intuitive and transparent full-body interactions for potentially complex information spaces, e.g. a virtual prototype, a highly dynamic simulated train station bursting with commuters, or even an abstract space. The user must be able to react as if the virtual environment were real, even if it is not realistic ; this is the general goal of Presence. Within that context we propose precise postural control technique for avatar and autonomous virtual humans.
