After a huge success at the Maison d’Ailleurs, the exhibition «Playtime – Videogame mythologies» will begin its international tour at the Krasnoyarsk Cultural-Historical Museum Complex on Mai 3rd 2013. This first stop in Siberia will be followed by an exhibition at the well known Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow starting on July 18th 2013 within the framework of the Swiss made in Russia program. Developed for the GameCulture program of the Swiss Arts Council, Playtime explores the relationship between videogames, society and culture.
Like every Spring, San Francisco turns into the World games capital this week. And Switzerland will be present at the IGF with the finalist Liquisketch and at the GDC Play with several Swiss game developers, such as Grooh and Krautscape selected for Best in Play Award. Swissnex San Francisco also hosts the Game Gazer, an exhibition on Swiss game design: play a backpack video console, control the expressions of a portrait, and join a shouting match—for fun! The IndieCade East Coast debut will start on February 15th at the Museum of Moving Image in NYC. Beside formats like Session/Talks, Game-Jam and Exhibitions, the participants are invited to engage into after-dark gameplay at Night Games: from meditative to explosive, from solo to multiplayer. The guests will for sure enjoy «Rakete», the social and explosive multiplayer game imagined by Swiss developer Mario von Rickenbach.
Are you interested in participating in the world‘s largest game event? The Gobal Game Jam is a unique opportunity for everyone who is interested to get involved in the process of developing a Game. From January 25th to 27th Dock18 will host the only Swiss jam site at Rote Fabrik in Zürich. Small teams are invited to develop a game idea on a topic defined in front. All contributions will be presented at Dock18 on February 1st and the public will award the best game.
The mobile exhibition “Swiss Game Design” produced by Pro Helvetia and conceptualized by House of Electronic Arts Basel will be shown at the CMoDA (China Millennium Monument Museum of Digital Arts) in Beijing, from January 20th to February 3rd.
The exhibition that targets on Interactive Design, Game Designers and new Media Artists will show 23 works from Reasearch and Technologies to Game Design and Art. Florian Faller, Game Designer (Feist) and lecturer/researcher at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), will be invited on January 19th to share his views on Game Design in Switzerland and on international base.
