For the second year in a row, the collaboration of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia with swissnex san francisco, the city of Zürich and Swiss Studios to show the creativity of Swiss Game Designers at GDC play will be couronnated with success. A MAZE Indie Connect will take place at DGT 13 – Deutsche Gamestage - in Berlin. From April 24th to 26th the platfrom will offer plenty of space for Games Developers to connect with Game enthousiasts. Liquidsketch, the new game of Tobias Neukom, is a puzzle pushing the understanding of liquid mechanics in a funny and challenging way. The incredibly realistic real-time liquid simulation and the reactivity to gyroscope controls are some of the reasons that make this game a unique experience. They are for sure the main arguments to be nominated as a finalist at IGF 2013 for technical excellence. Good job Tobias!
The IndieCade East Coast debut will start on February 15th at the Museum of Moving Image in NYC. Beside formats like Session/Talks, Game-Jam and Exhibitions, the participants are invited to engage into after-dark gameplay at Night Games: from meditative to explosive, from solo to multiplayer. The guests will for sure enjoy «Rakete», the social and explosive multiplayer game imagined by Swiss developer Mario von Rickenbach.
Markus Gross is teaching Computer Sciences at ETH Zürich since 1994. In the last three years he builds up the Disney Research Lab in Zürich. On February 23rd he will get a Tech Oscar from the Academy of Motion and Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). As the Director of the Research Lab he will be awarded for the “Wavelet Turbulence Software”. Read more
